Q. Do you perform background music?
A. Yes, PanNeubean Steel provides music for
any settings and encourage the use of steelpan
for any type of musical atmosphere.  We even
provide solo Steelpan music when requested.

Q. How long have you been playing
the Steelpan?

A. Because of my Jamaican-Caribbean roots and
my desire to be a part of my cultural heritage, I fell
in love with the Steelpan more than 20
years ago.
During my time as a professional musician in the
Army, I was encouraged to perfect my performance
skills.

Q. Does PanNeubean Steel perform styles other than Caribbean music?
A. PanNeubean Steel was created to showcase the Steelpan’s versatility.  While reggae, soca, and calypso are traditionally 'caribbean', we have incorporated a variety of musical styles into our repertoire.  The Steelpan adds the Caribbean “spice”.  REGGAE, SOCA, CALYPSO, CLASSICAL, JAZZ, FUSION, FUNK, ZYDECO, R&B, CONTEMPORARY and LATIN.  In other words we "Caribbean-ize" a spectrum of musical styles while still focusing on what is audibly still caribbean.

Q. Why hire PanNeubean Steel over any other Steelband?
A.
PanNeubean Steel prides itself in being a very professional band.   Along with my Masters of Music degree from the New England Conservatory, I also have more than 25 years of performing professionally.  We arrive in time, we start on time, we are courteous, we dress appropriately and we only leave behind "...an oasis of musical moods..." that will keep you and your guests smiling for years to come.

Q. I noticed you’re an Educator in addition to being a Musician, do you offer lessons or workshops on the Steelpan?
A. Upon request, I give private Steelpan instruction to both children and adults.  I also offer formal workshops to schools.

Q. Why name the band PanNeubean Steel and how do you pronounce it?
A. PanNeubean Steel pronounced (Pan-nü-be-an Ste-al) was created to provide a musical outlet for the Steelpan.  The name is a combination of the Steelpan’s recent invention and its Pan-African-Caribbean origin.
